As Secwépemc people, our strength has always come from our people. Our ancestors carried the responsibility of making decisions with future generations in mind, and those not yet born and today that responsibility rests with each of us.
Not long ago, many Indigenous people in this country were denied a meaningful voice in the decisions that affected them. Today, we have the opportunity and responsibility to exercise that voice. Every vote cast reflects our resilience, our self-determination, and our commitment to future generations.
Voting is more than a democratic process, it really is an expression of our voice, our rights, our responsibilities, and our collective commitment to one another. When we participate, we help shape the future.
At Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc, we are guided by our shared values: protecting our rights and interests, caring for our lands and waters, strengthening our community, advancing economic sovereignty, and creating opportunities for future generations. These responsibilities belong to all of us.
As you consider your vote, I encourage you to look beyond personalities and consider the qualities of leadership that matter most: integrity, accountability, respect, humility, collaboration, vision, and a genuine commitment to serving people and communities. Consider those who are prepared to listen, build understanding, bring people together, and work in partnership to address the challenges and opportunities before us.
As Kúkwpi7, my responsibility is to advocate for the interests of Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc and our people. Regardless of the outcome of this election, I am committed to working with whoever earns the trust of British Columbians. Meaningful progress is built through respectful relationships, honest conversations, and a willingness to work together, even when perspectives differ. The strongest leaders are those who listen, seek understanding, and recognize that lasting solutions come from collaboration and mutual respect.
Our work as leaders, communities, and governments does not end on election day. It continues through the relationships we build, the commitments we honour, and the shared responsibility we carry to create healthy, strong, and sustainable communities for future generations.
I encourage every eligible Tk̓emlúps member, and all Secwépemc people, to make your voice heard by voting. I am not asking you to vote a certain way. I am asking you to participate. Every vote matters.
Strong participation strengthens our community and ensures that the priorities, perspectives, and values of our people are reflected in the decisions that will shape our future.
For the British Columbia Provincial Election, Final Voting Day is Saturday, October 24, 2026, and voting places are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Advance voting is available from October 16 to October 21, 2026.

Your voice matters. Your vote matters.
