B.C. is Burning – Documentary Screening at TRU

Scwén̓wen Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), the Business Arm of Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS), is proud to support the premiere of a powerful new documentary that explores the root causes of British Columbia’s escalating wildfire crisis—and the urgent steps needed to address it.
The film features TteS member Jim McGrath of Tk̓emlúpsemc Forestry Development Corp., a corporation under SEDC. Jim offers insight into the challenges and responsibilities of modern forest management. Jim’s participation highlights the important role of Indigenous-led forestry and the value of collaboration as we face the realities of climate change.
Produced in partnership with Interfor, the documentary brings together critical perspectives from Indigenous, environmental, and industry voices.
The public screening will be followed by a 20-minute Q&A with contributors. A reception will follow in the atrium, offering guests a chance to connect with community and industry members over light refreshments.
