Dec 4 | Heritage By-Law Update Engagement Session

Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) is updating its on-reserve Heritage Conservation By-Law to better protect, preserve, and manage the community’s cultural resources. This update is important because the current by-law, while effective, needs to be more comprehensive in addressing the evolving needs and challenges faced by the community in safeguarding its heritage sites, artifacts, and traditions.

Through October and November, surveys were sent out to collect insight from TteS community members on their priorities regarding Indigenous knowledge, values, and heritage conservation practices.

Now TteS is looking to engage community members and staff further during engagement sessions scheduled for December 3rd and 4th, 2024. TteS is looking for your feedback on the current on-reserve Heritage Conservation By-Law and for opinions on what you would like to see from the updated law.

Paper copies of surveys will be available for attendees to fill in. Attendees are also invited to share their contact information for a chance to win one of two prizes (1st prize is a Yeti Cooler and 2nd prize is a Yeti Cup).
