Training
The Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) Education Department is a non-profit department within the TteS organization. Our current education, trades, training and skill development programming and services are founded in Secwépemc language, culture, values, heritage and tradition.
It is the philosophical approach of this department to blend quality education programs and services and Secwépemc culture and language. Our mandate is to consistently develop, deliver and advocate for innovative programs and services to better equip our membership for self-sufficiency and better quality of life by promoting positive educational, training, cultural, linguistic and employment experiences.
Our trades and training program provide our membership with the opportunity to acquire practical training and employment skills with the objective of increasing participation in the labour market and providing employers with skilled workers. Our members may access services which include:
- Skill development
- Training for high-demand jobs
- Supports and services for those with barriers to employment
- Employment services, including assisting with work placements

Trade Sampler | February 2025
The Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Construction Trade Sampler Program will start the beginning of February. Learn plumbing, carpentry and electrical for an apprenticeship. The program will lead directly to employment after completion and open to anyone Indigenous. Contact:

Customer Service Training | March 3 – March 20, 2025
Customer Service Training is coming back to Tk̓emlúps in March. This program is an entry level program teaching all the skills to work with the public. Work practicums will be set up with TteS owned businesses. For more information contact Jordann Hazelwood at 250-819-6144. Space is limited.

Times: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Completion Day: Friday, March 21st
Location: White Tech (old white building beside MSG)
This three-week training program is designed to prepare you for success in a variety of customer service roles! Participants will:
- Explore foundational customer service principles
- Develop professional communication skills
- Gain essential certifications
- Create a customized resume and enhance interview skills
- Build life skills to support career growth
Real-World Experience:
Participants will also complete a four-day work practicum to gain hands-on experience in the workplace.
