Language and Culture

The Language & Culture Department at Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc is dedicated to preserving, revitalizing, and celebrating Secwépemc language, culture, traditions, and ways of knowing for current and future generations. Through language programming, cultural education, community gatherings, ceremonies, and intergenerational knowledge sharing, the department works to strengthen cultural identity and foster a deeper understanding of Secwépemc history and values. Guided by the teachings of our ancestors and the voices of Elders and Knowledge Keepers, the Language & Culture Department plays a vital role in ensuring that Secwépemc language and culture continue to thrive while creating meaningful opportunities for connection, learning, healing, and community pride.
