The original logo was designed by Raven Dave Seymour.
The Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc logo is a vectorized adaptation of an original painting by prolific Secwépemc artist “Raven” Dave Seymour (1948-2012), with only slight adjustments made to suit its role as a logo. The logo depicts the profile of a Secwépemc man surrounded by rivers, Coyote Rock, spelqwéqs (bald eagle), tsq̓ ellp (fir tree), ts’i7 (deer), sqlélten (salmon), and Mt. Paul, all imbued with rich cultural significance.
Raven Dave gifted the artwork to Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc specifically for use as a logo. While it contains powerful cultural imagery, he intentionally refrained from attributing specific meanings or symbolism, leaving its interpretation open to each viewer. This approach allows the logo to resonate personally while remaining deeply rooted in Secwépemc heritage.
Raven Dave passed away in 2012 shortly after creating the logo for Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc. The artistic legacy he leaves behind is a testament to the beauty he saw in the world and, more importantly, the depth of his heart. His unique painting style effortlessly captured the essence of the Tk̓emlúps Nation and resonated far beyond, earning international acclaim.
He will forever inspire the future generations with the lasting imprint his legacy has left behind.
