Born and raised in Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc, on the unceded and unsurrendered territory of Secwepemcúl̓ecw, he is the son of Gene Gottfriedson and Ramona Wilson. On his father’s side, his grandparents are kyé7e (grandmother) Violet Gottfriedson and xpé7e (grandfather) Charlie Montgomery. On his mother’s side, he is the grandson of the late kyé7e (grandmother) Connie Louis and xpé7e (grandfather) Leonard Louis. Boyd is a devoted husband to Ashley and a proud father to his two beautiful st̓emkékelt (daughters), Gia and Noa.

Boyd is honoured to serve as Tk̓wenem7íple7 and to work alongside our Kúkwpi7 and fellow Tk̓wenem7íple7 in supporting, protecting, and honouring our people.

When he’s not serving the community, Boyd is a proud family man who values time with his wife and daughters. He is a lifelong sports fan and enjoys staying active through hockey and softball.

He has a variety of work experience such as working with Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc organization in numerous roles, Retail store management, School District No. 73, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Boyd has an educational background in Police and Justice programs from Nicola Valley Institute of Technology and Thompson Rivers University.

Boyd’s primary portfolio is the Planning & Engineering Department that oversees several key divisions, including Public Works, Community Safety (formerly Bylaws), the Water Treatment Plant, Capital Projects, and Regulations & Permits
