Weyt-kp xwexwéytep,
It is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to say Kukwstsétsemc to membership for electing me as your Kúkwpi7 for a third three-year term. I am a strong confident woman leading by example and am a Kúkwpi7/Chief, Mother, Kye7e-Grandmother, Wife, and Role Model.
Other important leadership roles I have held include serving three years as Tribal Chief for the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council (SNTC), representing nine Secwépemc First Nation communities, and currently serving as a Board Director for the British Columbia Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN).
In the 15+ years of service to my community, I express gratitude for all your support to be representing and advocating initiatives that benefit our membership and our people. I am committed to serving, collaborating, and championing the vital work of TteS.
Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir has gained extensive political experience at the community, municipal, provincial, and the federal level that has supported her drive to advance community driven initiatives that support rights to self-determination and reliance while building friendships to support meaningful steps and inspiring change.
She works with all government ensuring that all aspects of conversations are forward thinking, and addressing comprehensive approaches based on ongoing consent – not just consultation in alignment with TteS’s comprehensive community driven values.
Her leadership promotes inclusive, sustainable, and innovative growth for a shared economy that provides for a concrete and strategic pathway for TteS to reach their economic goals for a growing and thriving community while always upholding the socio-economic needs of her people.
Alignment of our TteS business arm with our political vision puts economic sovereignty and parity at the forefront. Our TteS lands are a sought-after location, and we have a responsibility to ensure that economic opportunities enhance sustainable growth, supported and guided by a development strategy and action plan that will bring value to the community for generations to come, leading to many opportunities to promote, advertise, and profile locations that are truly open for business.
Kúkpi7 Rosanne holds her hands up and acknowledges all the past and the current leadership of TteS and for all future generations who will be tomorrow’s leaders. Her community has entrusted and assigned her Kúkpi7 representing TteS and it is a responsibility that she upholds as she continues to serve and represent her people and continues to lead by example and support the legacy for all future generations.
