Members, please see the attached Notification on Moratorium that was shared with members that there have been elk sightings in the Tkemlups te Secwepemc (TteS) territory, it has been many years since elk have been sighted with regularity in Tk’emlúpsemcúl’ecw and because of this, a motion has been passed to establish a moratorium on any hunting of Elk. We hope with this in place we can one day see a significant increase in population for future generations.

If you have any further questions feel free to contact TteS.

North Reservoir

North Reservoir

Today marks a historic day for TteS! We are celebrating the completion of the North Reservoir, making TteS as the first First Nations to use their development cost charges to fund a capital project.  As a result of the project, there is significant developable land available and an industrial level of fire protection.

Please see attached press release for more information.

Councillor Justin would like to extend his appreciation to the P and E team, especially John ter Borg, for all his hard work in seeing this project to completion.

Chief and Council would like to encourage all to share their successes as there are lots within our organization.  TteS has lots to be proud about!

Elections

Posted on: October 20, 2020

If you haven’t voted yet, today and tomorrow are the last two days of advance polls. Voting locations are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. — find the closest one to you and make a plan to get there!

*** If you have a mail-in ballot but haven’t sent it off yet, don’t! ***

Elections BC says at this point it’s too late to drop it in the mail. But you can definitely still vote. Either take your mail ballot to a polling location on any of the dates they are open (or other drop off spot), or destroy it and vote in person instead.

IMPORTANT — there are only three in-person voting days left: today (Tuesday, October 20), tomorrow and election day this Saturday, October 24.

Your voice is important! Please take the time to vote.
